I have been a member at many different gyms. I’ve used ellipticals, treadmills, tracks, pools, free weights and machines. I’ve even hired personal trainers to take my workouts one step further. I’m one of those crazy people who actually enjoys working out.
Back in high school, I was a 4 sport athlete. Discipline was all I knew. I was strong and I knew it. I was proud of who I was. Somewhere/somehow I lost all that. I forgot who I was, lost sight of my purpose and gave up on me.
I tried lots of things in an effort to “find myself” but it wasn’t until I found boxing that I started to feel renewed. I felt strong again. I felt like an athlete again. I rediscovered my purpose and started believing in myself. Now you can box at lots of different places but what you experience at CORE is in a class of its own.
I have never in my life been a part of a gym as cool as CORE. What Coach, Mike and Jay have built at CORE is a family of people with a shared purpose: supporting one another to be better than we were yesterday. The members genuinely care about one another. The trainers genuinely care about their members, not just in the gym but outside the gym, and not just the members but their families, too. When you are a member at CORE, you marry into the coolest family you could ever imagine. And that’s just the people.
The workouts at CORE are world class. The variety is something you will only find at CORE and the intensity is out of this world. I thought I knew what it meant to be pushed out of my comfort zone prior to joining CORE. Man, was I WRONG! The trainers push you past your comfort zone to a place you didn’t think you could go, and then some. And once you think you have been pushed as far as you can go, they push you even further. When you don’t think you can, they KNOW you can and they get you there. It’s awesome!
I suffered a non-exercise related injury last year that resulted in foot surgery and 6 MONTHS of inactivity. The trainers at CORE checked in with me on a regular basis to see how I was doing and continued to encourage me while I was away. They treated me like FAMILY. As difficult as the injury was, it was also one of the best things that could have happened to me. Being away from CORE made me realize how blessed I am to be a part of something so special. I will never take another CORE workout for granted.
I love this place, the trainers and the members. CORE feels like home.
