I absolutely love CORE Fitness and Boxing.  What makes CORE different than other training facilities?  THE TRAINERS!  Coach, Jay, and Mike have created a unique environment that is conducive for achieving goals.  Traci and Zack have been great additions to the training staff in 2015.  All the trainers take the time to get to know the members and understand each member’s fitness goals.  They always have words of encouragement but will also call you out when you’re being a slacker!  They push you to move forward in your fitness training.  The members are awesome too!  I have made a lot of great friends at CORE.  Words of encouragement and high-fives are just part of the workout!  I urge anyone, from beginners to experts, looking for a great place to improve their fitness and health to check out CORE Fitness and Boxing; you won’t regret it!

I remember walking into Core and being greeted by smiling faces that were eager to wrap my hands and show me the way.  From that day forward, this gym has become a home to me.  I could have the worst day, no matter what battles life throws my way, after I walk out-  I feel lighter, I left the burdens of the day on that bag.   With every punch, kick and drop of sweat, I’m becoming a stronger person.  Emotionally and physically.   The coaches at Core are truly family.  They care about your life, your struggles and your progress.  They want to be by your side to see you achieve your dreams.  That’s what this gym is for me.  I am grateful for the coaches and the members for always being so welcoming and making me and my kids feel like we belong here. We truly are family.   Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

TAs a fairly fit woman in my mid forties,  I thought I was doing pretty well at your average gym. I had no idea how much more I could achieve by switching to CORE. I am stronger, faster, and have more endurance than I ever have been in my life. I have more self esteem, more self confidence in knowing what I have accomplished with their help. The staff and other members became family in a way no at the gym has. For anyone who’s looking to give up the average gym experience, who is looking to surpass fitness goals they never thought they could achieve… I would recommend CORE.

C.O.R.E. Creating Obtainable, Realistic, and Effective Fitness and Boxing.  To me, C.O.R.E. means Caring Trainers with Optimistic Attitudes, Realistic Goals and a lot of Energy.  Exercise has always felt like work in the past.  Same old routine and music.  The instructors were just there to teach.  C.O.R.E. is not like any other gym.  Workouts are constantly changing, the music is never the same, the instructors want you to succeed in meeting our goals and are pushing members to do more.  The trainers and members have become like family.  We discuss goals in and out of the gym.  We celebrate successes and special occasions.  You don’t find this type of gym/member relationship anywhere else.

When I moved to town I didn’t know anyone.  I tried out a boxing class, after receiving a flier in the mail, and fell in love.  The trainers cared about me and I cared about them and volunteered time to help them build the gym we know today.  C.O.R.E. is part of who I am.  Working out has become an addiction.  I know what it takes to accomplish my goals and it’s up to me to put in the work.  The trainers are there to help me meet them and keep me motivated.  There was a period of time after knee surgery when I couldn’t attend class.  I looked to weight lifting at the gym instead and talking to the trainers and other members daily.  They were my lifeline and helped keep me focused and moving forward.

C.O.R.E. is more than I ever expected.  There is no other gym in town that offers the quality workout and personal touch that C.O.R.E. does.  The trainers here are the absolute best and I will continue to support them as they have supported me.

I’ve only been a member of this gym for two weeks. Already in those two weeks I have seen results. I have a physical disability with a 39° curvature of the spine, because of this I’m unable to do some of the exercises. However the trainers are so amazing they are always encouraging and right there ready to give me an alternative yet comparable exercise to help me meet my fitness goals. I would highly recommend to anyone and already have!

I haven’t been a member of CORE for very long, but I can without a doubt say I LOVE IT! It’s by far the most extreme workout I’ve ever had & the most rewarding experience! The coaches there all have such drive and passion for the sport & it truly shows! The motivation you receive during each class is unbelievable & admiring! Everybody there is so friendly and you feel right at home! I highly recommend CORE to whomever wants to get fit, lose some weight, tone up or just simply be proud of yourself! You won’t walk out of the building without feeling amazing about yourself!!!!

CORE Fitness & Boxing Club is so much more than just a gym. Every day I come in, I am greeted at the door with a welcoming smile from one of the amazing coaches. I have never been a fitness buff or even an enthusiast. I am just a busy mom of 3 children who works full time, and needed something to burn off some steam. Before I found CORE I never made working out a priority, and I NEVER felt as supported as I do at CORE. When I started at the nagging request of one of my very fit friends, who had been a member for a while before,  I never expected to stick it out, but once I started I realized it was different here. These coaches helped me and guided me at the fitness level I was at when I started. Despite not being able to do a single crunch my first month there, they stuck with me and challenged me to get to the next level. I never once felt like I was not good enough even though there were many days I just could not keep up. They encouraged me to go at my own pace and when they knew I could do it, even when I doubted myself, they pushed me just a little more and helped me achieve success. It is because of these coaches and the fun I have come to expect from the classes, that I have been consistently working out for the past year. You truly never know what you are going to get from one day to the next at CORE. I am proud to have lost 30 pounds in 2015 (and keeping it off), due in large part to the encouragement and support from the coaches and the members. This gym is full of incredible people, and we are truly like one big family. We all work together to support each other in our goals, and I have made some amazing friends along the way. If you haven’t visited CORE Fitness & Boxing Club yet, you are really missing out!  Love you guys 🙂

Pools of sweat, suicidal (and occasional homicidal) thoughts, and relentless screaming of the trainers superimposed over music define a typical workout at C.O.R.E Fitness and Boxing club. While immortality may not be achievable after engaging in C.O.R.E. workouts, death by fitness is a definite possibility. The workouts are fun, the trainers push you to the limit everyday and the rewards are more than just physical.  Being at C.O.R.E. feels like home now and (WARNING!) serious withdrawal symptoms including irritability and labile mood can occur after missing a few classes. I joined this club as part of my grand plan to turn my life around and be the fittest and healthiest I can be. I engage in a variety of other sports and physical activities but the classes at C.O.R.E have helped a lot in achieving my goals. Besides getting a new nickname “Wheels”, I have lost 70 lbs; I am no longer a pre-diabetic, my cholesterol levels have never been better, my fatty liver has resolved and my blood pressure control is optimal. More importantly, I am a happier, more confident person and these workouts have definitely contributed to an improvement in my work performance as well. As a physician, I would recommend C.O.R.E to anyone who wishes to improve their health. As a hardworking professional, I would recommend it to anyone who wishes to release their frustration in a positive way by punching some bags at the end of the day. As a human being, I would recommend it to anyone who wishes to have fun and make new friends while taking charge of one’s overall wellness.

I think lives are literally saved here at C.O.R.E, and I don’t say that lightly. As a physician, I recently went through my residency training and between the stress, long hours, and little sleep, let myself get seriously out of shape – something I never thought would happen after 20 years of being in competitive sports. I missed the feeling of confidence that came with making it through a tough workout or practice, and my occasional visits to the gym didn’t give me a sense of encouragement or teamwork that kept me accountable and going back for more. That’s when I found C.O.R.E Fitness and Boxing, and a year and a half later, I’ve never looked back.

The classes at C.O.R.E are like nothing else I’ve ever done. Constantly changing, dynamic, and always encompassing the most up to date fitness developments, I’ve never had one workout that was like the next. I’m stronger and fit now than I was at the peak of being a competitive swimmer and triathlete.

But perhaps the best thing about C.O.R.E is the trainers themselves and the atmosphere they have created. It seems cliché to call it a family but it truly is. When I walk in through the door to the familiar music pumping and sounds of boxing bags being hit, I’m often emotionally, mentally and physically drained from a long day.  I’m greeted with a hug, smile, and genuine “how was your day?” from my trainers, and it’s often the first sense of comfort I’ve had in 12 hours. As the other members pile in and we share laughs and groans and sweat for the next 50 minutes, I truly feel as if I’m home. The stress and fatigue of the day fades away, and I feel strong and ready enough to face it all again.

So why do I think lives are saved here at C.O.R.E? It’s not just because it makes strong, healthy, active bodies and minds for all of its members – which, in itself, can be lifesaving. It makes me better – as a person, partner, friend, and physician. And I am so grateful to be a part of the family.

I am beyond happy that I signed up at Core. Every class I’ve done is different. Sometimes we have our boxing gloves on and we are working on punches and kicks. Sometimes we are running around the gym doing squats or pushups. Sometimes we jump on boxes or throw medicine balls. You never know what different muscles you may be putting to work each time you walk into a class. All the coaches are there to make sure you are working hard. I know now very quickly to never yawn, no matter how tired I am, rest when they say rest, go your hardest when they say go, and to do as many pushups off of my knees that I can. They are very motivating. Pushing you to do your best constantly, all the while making sure you are smiling and every once in a while have a laugh. Even though it has only been a short while, I feel a difference in my body and I just feel good. I got everything I was looking for in a gym. I know the effect a good workout can have on you and your attitude, and now I only wished I’d found Core sooner.

I have been a member at many different gyms. I’ve used ellipticals, treadmills, tracks, pools, free weights and machines. I’ve even hired personal trainers to take my workouts one step further. I’m one of those crazy people who actually enjoys working out.

Back in high school, I was a 4 sport athlete. Discipline was all I knew. I was strong and I knew it. I was proud of who I was. Somewhere/somehow I lost all that. I forgot who I was, lost sight of my purpose and gave up on me.

I tried lots of things in an effort to “find myself” but it wasn’t until I found boxing that I started to feel renewed. I felt strong again. I felt like an athlete again. I rediscovered my purpose and started believing in myself. Now you can box at lots of different places but what you experience at CORE is in a class of its own.

I have never in my life been a part of a gym as cool as CORE. What Coach, Mike and Jay have built at CORE is a family of people with a shared purpose: supporting one another to be better than we were yesterday. The members genuinely care about one another. The trainers genuinely care about their members, not just in the gym but outside the gym, and not just the members but their families, too. When you are a member at CORE, you marry into the coolest family you could ever imagine. And that’s just the people.

The workouts at CORE are world class. The variety is something you will only find at CORE and the intensity is out of this world. I thought I knew what it meant to be pushed out of my comfort zone prior to joining CORE. Man, was I WRONG! The trainers push you past your comfort zone to a place you didn’t think you could go, and then some. And once you think you have been pushed as far as you can go, they push you even further. When you don’t think you can, they KNOW you can and they get you there. It’s awesome!

I suffered a non-exercise related injury last year that resulted in foot surgery and 6 MONTHS of inactivity. The trainers at CORE checked in with me on a regular basis to see how I was doing and continued to encourage me while I was away. They treated me like FAMILY. As difficult as the injury was, it was also one of the best things that could have happened to me. Being away from CORE made me realize how blessed I am to be a part of something so special. I will never take another CORE workout for granted.

I love this place, the trainers and the members. CORE feels like home.
